Knurled Miniature Painting Handle
I got tired of my wooden dowels for painting handles, mainly because I'd run out and have so many things to paint (that admittedly I never finish).
So I designed this.
Print one or two handles, and as many tops as you want!
The handle/top is designed to accept an 18mm x 3mm magnet.
There are two versions for the price of one.
Normal glued in
and
Captive
For the glued in version, I've found a good super glue is more than sufficient if printed with FDM like I have. But I'd suspect you may want a stronger epoxy if you so choose to print this in resin.
For the captive handle, you'll need to add in a layer pause (as per you slicer) to load in a magnet.
Make sure you mark your magnets so that they don't repel each other!
Added bonus, if you find some adhesive-backed metal strips/plates. Slap that down on your desk. Between models, you can just take the top off and set it on the metal. Harder to bump over. And a much lower center of gravity than a certain company is selling.
I've also included a wide topped version (both normal and captive) for larger models
Edit:
These are the magnets that I use:
